New owner for Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge

PARK RIDGE - Capitol Seniors Housing, a senior living investment firm based in Washington, D.C., will take over ownership of The Summit of Uptown around Sept. 18, according to Marc Dennison, the current owner of the family-owned and operated senior living community in Park Ridge.

"We are excited about what this means for Summit residents, their families, our staff and the community," said Dennison.

CSH uses The Arbor Co., based in Atlanta, Georgia, to manage its properties which will include The Summit. Arbor President Judd Harper said the company will remain committed to providing high quality and comprehensive services to Summit residents as they do in all their communities across the United States.

"Arbor's philosophy is that the residents and staff of Summit come first. We will maintain what has been great and improve where we can," Harper said.

The first change is that the new owners will invest additional resources to update and complete the extensive renovation of The Summit, which was started several years ago.

"We believe it is the culture of The Arbor Company that sets us apart from other senior living providers," Harper said. "When we first visited Summit of Uptown, we were delighted to see how connected Summit is to the surrounding community. That level of commitment will continue under the new ownership."

Irene Sawka will remain at Summit as executive director.

"We know that the new owners bring with them substantial experience, a strong backup management team, and the capital needed to make Summit even more successful," Sawka said.

The Arbor Co. operates more than 25 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities, serving seniors and their families in 10 states.
