Lake County Fairgrounds hosts the Windy City Dub Fest

Chicago area Volkswagen and Audi enthusiasts gathered at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake Saturday for the first ever Windy City Dub Fest.

The Audi Exchange in Highland Park and Volkswagen of Crystal Lake provided more than 80 cars for the event. At least 13 local car clubs including the Windy City Euros, Deutschland Raketen and Air Cooled Hooligans were invited to show off their cars.

Windy City Dub Fest Director Jason Axelrod said the event is designed to bring the VW and Audi community together in a fun and safe environment.

"The VW and Audi community are very keen on customizing their cars to develop their own identities and personalities, and Windy City Dub Fest brings this community together in one place to share their passion, ideas, and work with others" Axelrod said.

The event also featured a VW/Audi judging contest with awards, DJ, food, drinks and vendors offering items for sale. The car dealers also had specialists on site to answer questions on various VW and Audi models.
