Circus coming to Vernon Hills

The Vernon Hills Lions Club will host the Kelly Miller Circus at the American Hotel Register site in Vernon Hills, Sept. 11-14. Under the big top there are tigers, elephants and other animal acts, aerial acrobatics, and special performances enhanced by theatrical lighting and music. Showtimes are at: 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11; 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12; 2 and 5 p.m., Sunday. Sept. 13; and 4 and 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14. Tickets are not available through American Hotel Register but can be purchased in advance at the Vernon Hills village hall, the Vernon Hills Park District or online at www.kellymillercircus.com (a convenience fee is added for online purchases). Prices are $6 (children, ages 2-12) and $12 (adults, 12 and older) in advance. Event day tickets purchased on site will be $8 (children) and $12 (adults). All net proceeds from this event will support the Lions' charitable activities, including eyeglasses and hearing aids for needy families and many others.
