One eastbound I-90 ramp from Arlington Heights Road to close

It's time for Plan B if you're used to hopping on the Jane Addams Tollway (I-90) from northbound Arlington Heights Road.

As part of the ongoing rebuild of I-90, the Illinois tollway will close the eastbound ramp to Chicago from northbound Arlington Heights Road starting next week through October.

All other ramps at the interchange will remain open.

The suggested detour to the eastbound Jane Addams is at the Elmhurst Road interchange. Drivers should continue north on Arlington Heights Road, head east on Algonquin Road and south on Elmhurst Road.

The tollway is widening I-90 by one lane in each direction. The first half of the project between Rockford and Elgin is complete. The eastern half between Elgin and O'Hare International Airport will be finished in 2016.

The ramp from northbound Arlington Heights Road to eastbound I- 90 will be closed through October. Other ramps at the interchange will stay open. Bob Chwedyk/bchwedyk@dailyherald.com
