What's not to like about breakfast for dinner?

When I was growing up, I had an Aunt and Uncle that used to have “backward dinner” nights.

We would start with dessert and finish with a salad. As a kid I thought this was great and it made me realize that you can have fun with dinner and break the rules sometimes.

Making breakfast for dinner is another way to break the rules a bit and something my kids enjoy, too, once in awhile.

This recipe is a great make ahead recipe whether you want to make it the night before and serve it in the morning, or make it in the morning and serve it for dinner.

You might normally think of serving maple syrup with French toast, but I make a homemade syrup that is made from apple cider.

If you do make it for breakfast you may find that the aroma of this baking in the oven is enough to get any kid out of bed!
