Volunteers spruce up Lambs Farm

Highland Park Target store employees spent Friday helping spruce up Lambs Farm in Green Oaks.

"This is a very good experience for me, especially since I'm leaving for school," said Target employee Michelle Lencioni of Highland Park.

Lencioni and her colleagues spent much of their day sanding and painting picnic tables.

"It's very enjoyable. It's nice to kind of help. I used to come here when I was little," Lencioni said.

Lambs Farm welcomes groups and individuals to help maintain the landscaping, paint, and help with special events.

Lambs Farm uses more than 1,000 volunteers yearly, said Angela Ramert, volunteer and groups coordinator at the facility on Rockland Road that serves people with developmental disabilities.

"If we didn't have volunteers at Lambs Farm, it would not look as nice as it does. They bring in people power and funds to beautify the area and make improvements that we really never could afford," Ramert said.
