Aug. 15: The Elgin Road Race Car Show and Parade Lap celebrating the Elgin Open Wheel Road Races from 1910 to 1933. Registration, 10 a.m. Sherman West Court, 1950 Larkin Ave., Elgin. 2 p.m. Raffle. Aug. 16: 24th annual Vintage & Antique Motorcycle Show presented by the Chicago Norton Owners Club. Hosted by MCC (Motor Cycle Center), 443 E. Aug. 23: The Geneva Concours d'Elegance will celebrate the Art of the Automobile, featuring automobiles that were orphaned when their manufacturers went out of business, Jaguars and police cars. Also, a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin, featuring race cars built in 1955 or earlier. More than 175 automobiles compete for the coveted “Benz” award. Sept. 13: 29th annual British Car Festival, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. With more than 500 vehicles, this is one of the largest celebrations of British automotive design and engineering in the United States.
