Libertyville to host table tennis tournament

The Libertyville Sports Complex, 1950 N. Route 45, will host the 2015 Hyson Chicago International Table Tennis Open, Aug. 8-9, Visit Lake County officials said Wednesday in a news release. The tournament will feature international stars from the United States, Germany, Sweden, Poland and Korea and many participants from other locations. Prominent contenders competing in the open singles event include Panagiotis Gionis, of Greece, ranked 22nd in the world and 25th-World Ranked Bastian Steger of Germany. The open is a four-star United States of America Table Tennis (USATT) sanctioned event, and is a round-robin formatted tournament that will award more than $12,500 to contenders.
