Three masked intruders fought off during home invasion

An Aurora Township resident fought off three intruders during a home invasion early Saturday before they went to an upstairs apartment, tied up a neighbor and stole money, authorities said.

The three male suspects, all dressed in black and wearing masks, entered the lower level apartment of a building on the 1400 block of Indian Avenue about 2:30 a.m. demanding money and drugs. Two of the intruders had guns, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

But the resident fought them off, and authorities believe the suspects realized they were in the wrong apartment.

They then went upstairs and tied up at least one person in that apartment, and took a large amount of cash before leaving, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

The only description officials have released is that one of the suspects is believed to be Hispanic since he spoke in broken English when he was talking to one of the victims.

Police ask those with information to call (630) 444-1103.
