Busse Woods trail to detour during construction

A portion of the Busse Woods trail will be detoured as modifications are made to the Busse Dam, Elk Grove Village officials said.

Construction is scheduled to begin Aug. 1 and be complete by Thanksgiving.

Signage will be placed along the trail to direct walkers and bikers along the detour route, though officials say the trail may temporarily reopen during construction if conditions allow.

The $2.74 million construction project is aimed at reducing Salt Creek flooding during a major storm.
