Train crash victim identified as 30-year-old Des Plaines man
The person struck and killed by a Metra train Thursday night in unincorporated Maine Township was identified Friday as a 30-year-old Des Plaines man, officials said.
An autopsy was performed Friday, but the official cause of death remained pending, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The man was struck by an outbound North Central Line train just after 7:30 p.m. near the Central Road crossing, south of the Prospect Heights station, Metra officials said.
The crash was investigated by police from the Canadian National Railway and Metra.
