First of 8 arrested in Aurora sex sting gets 7 years prison

A 22-year-old Aurora man was sentenced to seven years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to trying to meet two minor girls at a hotel for sex.

Andres Alonso, of the 900 block of Gates Street, pleaded guilty to involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, a felony that carries a top prison term of 30 years.

Alonso is the first to plead guilty among eight arrested in December 2014 and January 2015 in an Aurora police sting that Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon credited with combating human trafficking.

"Mr. Alonso was convicted under an Illinois law that was designed to wipe out the sex trafficking trade," McMahon said. "I am pleased that we were able to make a dent in the demand, and pleased that no children were put at risk. The trafficking of humans for sexual or other purposes is despicable."

According to authorities, Alonso answered an online ad placed by undercover officers to have sex with a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl at an Aurora hotel on Dec. 2, 2014. In the ad, Alonso agreed with someone who he believed to be the girls' mother to pay $100 for 30 minutes of sex. After he arrived and paid, he was arrested by Aurora police and agents from the Department of Homeland Security, authorities said.

Under state law, Alonso may have his sentence cut in half for good behavior in prison and gets credit for 220 days being held at the Kane County jail while the case was pending.
