Stevenson's legacy discussed

A presentation "Adlai E. Stevenson - Citizen of the World: His Life and Legacy" will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at the Stevenson Center on Democracy, 25200 N. St. Mary's Road, Mettawa. Coffee and conversation will follow this free event. Alexander Karakkal wrote his doctoral thesis on Adlai Stevenson for Princeton University while on a Fulbright Scholarship. He spent 30 years as a professor of history at the University of Kerala and Mahatma Gandhi University and will share his thoughts on Adlai II's crusade for justice and democratic values. Adlai Stevenson III will introduce Karakkal and reflect on his father's concern for multiculturalism and alleviating poverty in the developing world.
