Build on the positives in education reporting
I read with pleasure the successes of both Sunny Hill Elementary School in the Barrington school district and Tefft Middle School in school district U-46. It was powerful to read of how each school has dealt with the needs of their community.
Too often, over the years, I've felt that the media has bashed teachers, schools, and education on a whole without looking into the real situations and environments that exist; it's too easy to generalize.
I've also enjoyed The Herald's series on teachers who are being successful in their classrooms.
Let's build on the positive and the strengths that exist in our world.
