Police: Gurnee woman killed in Route 120 crash

The motorist killed Monday in a four-vehicle accident near Grayslake has been identified as a Gurnee woman, Lake County Sheriff's officials have announced.

Heidi Bauer, 43, was driving one of the autos involved in the crash on Route 120 west of Battershall Road.

 

The crash happened when a landscaping truck crossed the centerline and sideswiped a dump truck, Lake County sheriff's police said. The landscaping truck then hit the Civic and a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander minivan, police said.

Bauer was driving the Civic, police said.

The drivers of the two trucks were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with unspecified injuries. Police had no updates about their conditions Tuesday.

Lake County sheriff's police are investigating. No charges have been filed.
