With 2-1 win, Hawks now 1 win away from claiming Stanley Cup

TAMPA, Fla. - The Blackhawks are now 1 victory from being able to lift third Stanley Cup in the last six years.

With goals from Patrick Sharp and Antoine Vermette, the Hawks defeated the Lightning 2-1 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday to take a 3-2 series lead.

Game 6 is at the United Center on Monday.

Valtteri Filppula scored for Tampa Bay.

On Vermette's goal, Kris Versteeg took off on a breakaway chance, but he whiffed at the shot. Staying with the play, Versteeg got the puck on net and when it bounced off Ben Bishop's skate, it went right to a charging Vermette, who buried his fourth goal of the postseason and third in the last nine games.
