'Bachelorette' says 'too-da-loo' to Batavia man

Batavia's “Bachelorette” contestant Clint Arlis got dumped twice on Monday night's episode, and despite being the funny guy on the show, exited angrily with a slew of swear words.

First, “Bachelorette” Kaitlyn Bristowe pulled Arlis aside and told him she didn't trust his smooth-talking ways. She said "I'm done" and sent him home.

"Too-da-loo Clint," she said in an after-the-fact interview.

Perhaps the more hurtful breakup for Arlis was with fellow contestant J.J. Lane. The two developed a deep "bromance" friendship on the show. But when Bristowe announced Arlis was going home, Lane flipped on Arlis and said he owed everyone in the group an apology, which infuriated Arlis. Later, the two had a heated in-your-face argument where they swore at each other, and Arlis mocked Lane's tie and shirt choice.

During the show, Arlis tweeted, "That was very, very tough to watch. Side note: JJ asked my opinion earlier in the night on what tie/shirt he should wear. Context, people."

Arlis, 27, was an honors student and star wrestler at Batavia High School and at University of Illinois. He now works as an architectural engineer at Land Lease in Chicago.

Naperville fitness trainer Justin Reich remains in the running, although he hasn't appeared much on-screen during the show. Also on Monday night's episode, Elgin native Courtney Reed was featured in her starring Broadway role as Jasmine in "Aladdin." During one of their group dates in New York City, the contestants auditioned to be in the musical.
