4th Ward alderman a true public servant

My wife, daughter, son and I have lived in Alderman Dick Sayad's 4th ward in Des Plaines for 21 years. During this time, we have reached out to Alderman Sayad a few times for help - for information on teen job opportunities, community yard services and senior safety issues. In every case, Alderman Sayad has responded quickly and tried to offer concrete assistance.

When I say Alderman Sayad responded quickly, I mean within minutes. Not weeks, not days, not hours. Within minutes, he calls you back.

This willingness to help comes naturally to Alderman Sayad. Our family has nothing to offer in return and until today we have never acknowledged his work. However, because of the selfless nature and extent of this alderman's service, my wife and I both feel it is important that he be recognized.

In an era when politicians are seldom seen as true public servants, Alderman Sayad is a refreshing change of pace.
