Palatine Township Hosts FREE Electronics Recycling Event

Palatine Township and Palatine Lions Club are teaming up to provide Township residents with an opportunity to dispose of their unwanted electronics. Businesses and individuals are welcome to participate. Electronics are not allowed in landfills - this is a safe, environmentally friendly way to dispose of them.

This event is free and there is no appointment necessary and no limit to most recycled items. All traffic will need to enter from the Illinois Avenue entrance and exit onto Quentin Road. Follow the traffic cones. Help will be provided to unload your car.

Items acceptable for recycling (electronics and other items)

· Computers & laptops · Monitors, scanners / copiers · printers & fax machines · keyboards & mice · cameras & DVRs · iPods, MP3 players · CD, DVD & VCR players · Power cords & cables · Satellite dishes · Small kitchen appliances· Blow dryers & curling irons · Pagers, PDAs & two-way radios · TVs (no charge for less than 27") & remotes · Phones & answering machines · Modems & computer components · Microwaves will be accepted for a $25 fee · Batteries (all types: car, motorcycle, marine, cordless tool & phone, alkaline, laptop, cellphone) click here for a complete list of all batteries that we are accepting · Special Lion items that we are also accepting: · used eyeglasses · used hearing aids · inkjet cartridges · cellphones & keys · Items NOT being accepted: · Light bulbs · White goods · Paint · Hazardous materials.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Township parking lot, 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois, 60067. Call 847-609-5805 for more information.
