Benefit concert for District 57 students

Music fans and Mount Prospect Elementary District 57 supporters are invited to attend the fifth annual Music Scholarship Benefit Concert, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at House of Music & Entertainment (H.O.M.E.), at 1227 N. Rand Road in Arlington Heights.

Proceeds provide scholarships for District 57 students and families who need assistance with band, orchestra and choral program fees, instrument rental, private lessons and other costs of participating in the school music programs.

The Music Ensemble Scholarship Fund has helped provide more than $10,000 in student scholarships over the past four years. The fund helps ensure that elementary and middle school students do not have to miss out on the valuable opportunity to participate in District 57's respected and popular music programs.

This year's benefit will feature the Lincoln Middle School Celebration Singers, Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, as well as special performances by District 57 student and alumni musicians.

Admission, which is tax deductible and payable at the door, is $15 for adults and $5 for students under 21. Admission is free for student performers. To purchase advance tickets or make a donation, visit www.district57musicscholarships.myevent.com.
