Glenbard East 9, Bartlett 2: Jordan Flint smacked a solo home run and Cameron Mays doubled, but it wasn't enough to stave off Glenbard East (15-13, 11-9) in the Upstate Eight Valley. Pitcher Vince Searson took the loss for Bartlett (14-15, 11-10).
South Elgin 11, Elgin 1 (6 inn.): Left-hander Tyler Hankins held the Maroons to an earned run on 6 hits in 6 innings to lead South Elgin (16-7, 13-7) in an Upstate Eight crossover. Dane Toppel doubled twice and drove in 3 runs for the Storm. Dean Anderson absorbed the loss for Elgin (8-22, 4-17).
St. Charles North 12, Larkin 6: Nick Fillmore doubled and drove in 2 runs, but the Royals were outhit 12-7 in this Upstate Eight River defeat by St. Charles North (24-4, 18-3). Keegan Anderson took the loss for Larkin (10-19, 7-15).
St. Charles East 11, Streamwood 2: Jose Aguilar doubled twice to account for half the Sabres' hits in this Upstate Eight River loss to St. Charles East (20-8, 15-6). Erik Williams was the losing pitcher for Streamwood (4-23, 3-17).
Cary-Grove 10, Crystal Lake South 7: In a battle between the top two teams in the FVC Valley, the Trojans tied the game 5-5 in the fifth inning via a grand slam from Wyatt Mascarella, and they scored 5 more in the sixth to win it, keyed by Larkin Hanselmann's 2-run double. Garrett Bright went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for the Gators. Reliever Shane Barlas picked up the win and Jimmy Perkins earned a one-out save for Cary-Grove (20-6-2, 13-1). Tyler Carlson took the loss for Crystal Lake South (21-6, 11-3).
Woodstock 6, Huntley 5 (10 inn): A wild pitch in the top of the 10th inning allowed Woodstock (10-12, 7-8) to win in Fox Valley Conference crossover action. Jeff Heinrich and Jake Liebman each collected 3 singles and 2 RBI in a losing cause for Huntley (7-22, 3-12).
Hampshire 10, Woodstock North 0 (5 inn.): Winning pitcher Kyle Rutkowski yielded only 2 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings of this Fox Valley (Fox) contest against Woodstock North (5-22, 0-15). Jayson Fleisner went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI, Tyler Schutt had 2 hits and 3 RBI and Matt Kielbasa drove in a pair for Hampshire (15-13, 6-11).
Northridge Prep 2, Elgin Academy 1: Gannon Cottone doubled but the Hilltoppers fell in pitcher's duel. Ian Wilson took the loss, though he surrendered only 2 hits and walked 3 while striking out 7 in 5 innings for Elgin Academy (8-14).
