Benet wins in 11th inning

Benet 3, Marist 1:

Evan Plonis singled home 2 runs in the top of the 11th inning as the Redwings (16-11, 7-6) pulled out an epic win in the East Suburban Catholic. Scoreless through seven innings, both teams notched their first run in the ninth. Starter Conor Hayes pitched into the 10th inning while Bobby Ernsting won in relief.

Fenton 4, Glenbard South 3:

Leading 4-3 at the end of the third, the Bison (12-11, 6-8) held Glenbard South (16-8, 9-6) scoreless the rest of the game behind pitchers Matt Lucas, Alex Williams and David Alden, who also went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Brady Pugliese drove in 2 runs. Andrew Wrona went 2-for-3 for the Raiders.

Naperville Central 4, WW South 2:

Kevin Clifford went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI as the Redhawks (14-11, 8-7) won their fifth straight in the DuPage Valley Conference. Justin Wegner went 2-for-4 and Logan Muckenhirn drove in 2 runs. Glenn Kozlowski was the winning pitcher and Zac Bianucci earned the save. Spiro Pavlou went 2-for-4 for WW South (11-15, 9-6).

Willowbrook 4, Hinsdale South 1:

A 3-run third inning helped the Warriors (20-8, 11-4) sweep in the West Suburban Gold. Luke Schuemer went 3-for-4 while Matt Pizur and Matt Garbacz combined on the mound.

Wheaton Academy 3, IC Catholic Prep 1:

The Warriors (20-6, 14-1) won in the Metro Suburban West despite managing only 4 hits. Brett Albaugh went 5 innings for the win and Luke Kram earned the save with 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Lisle 7, Sandwich 1:

Winning pitcher George Swedie struck out eight in 6 innings in the Lions' Interstate Eight victory and he also drove in 3 runs at the plate. Christian Grego went 2-for-3 for Lisle (11-13, 7-6).

Montini 3, Marmion 1:

Trailing 1-0, Montini (14-12) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally to victory. Sean Frontzak was the complete-game winning pitcher, striking out 12 and walking none in a 3-hitter. Jake Pestel, Alex Luka and Nick Malik had 2 hits apiece.
