Neuqua Valley edges Conant by a goal
Neuqua Valley's boys water polo team edged Conant 10-9 on Saturday in the final matchup of the Conant Invitational, and the contest which featured the tournament's two highest-ranked teams.
Cougars scorers against the Wildcats in a game that featured five lead changes were Jim Estep (4 goals), Braden Lamore (3), Cody Yeiser (1) and Tyler Goehrke (1).
Neuqua Valley had been No. 5 and Conant No. 15 in the most recent batch of state rankings from illpolo.com.
Earlier in the day, Conant edged Sandburg 11-6; the Cougars finished 3-1 in the tournament.
