Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo Keynotes 19th Annual Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center Luncheon

"A Prescription for a Happy You" is the topic of this year's Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center (MRW) 19th annual luncheon, which takes place on Wednesday May 6, 2015, at the Highland Park Country Club. The featured speaker is clinical psychologist Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, author of Better than Perfect and a frequent contributor to NBC-TV's The Today Show.

In addition to Dr. Lombardo sharing how to achieve happiness and prosperity without the stress of ensuring things are always "perfect," the luncheon also will honor NorthShore University HealthSystem's Kellogg Cancer Center Director, Gustavo Rodriguez, MD.

Co-chaired by Linda Clark (from Highland Park), Ruthie Greensphan (from Highland Park), Sheri Kase (from Buffalo Grove), Cindy Marder (from Buffalo Grove) and Sue Masaracchia-Roberts (from Vernon Hills), the MRW luncheon also includes a silent auction that features a vast array of items, as well as enticing raffle prizes.

Proceeds from this event support NorthShore' s Living in the Future (LIFE) Cancer Survivorship Program, which helps post-treatment cancer patients resume normal lives with their families and community. The proceeds also go toward health education and awareness, and diabetes education programming.

The silent auction begins at 10:30 a.m. and lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. The cost is $85 per person and reservations are required. RSVPS can be made and more information can be provided by calling 224-364-7275 or by visiting foundation.northshore.org/mrw.

The mission of the Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center is to promote community health education and awareness to the many communities served by Highland Park Hospital and the NorthShore University HealthSystem. All its services are free, easily accessible and broad-based, enabling individuals to make informed decisions when it comes to health and disease treatments.
