Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin recognizes Earth Day through service

In recognition of Earth Day, students from Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin spent an afternoon of service at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center on Elgin's far west side.

During the afternoon of April 26, the students planted an oak tree, re-set an trail marker, and pulled invasive plants at the center.

"We constantly discuss the concept of demonstrating leadership in the community. This annual event helps students appreciate the concept first-hand in addition to learning about our environment," explained Master Jeff Kim, owner of the academy. "Because our school is family-centric, we encourage the entire family to participate."
