I took this photo of emerging tulips today after walking around my yard and checking on what flowers were getting ready to bloom. I took the picture from directly above the plant for the different view, The leaf edges added to the overall design. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
I took this photo of natures light show. I'm fascinated by lightning, but the storm of April 9th was far beyond any storm I ever observed. A 60 minute span of threatening skies ablaze with streaks of lightning. The attached photo was taken from our deck looking west toward Gilberts. The small streak of lighting in the center bottom of the pic appears to touch ground in the detention area behind our home. Tony Pocewicz, of Carpentersville
Every spring brings the Siberian Squill back to Fabyan Park in Geneva. They make beautiful blue carpets all over the park, even into the woods. I call this one "Sunrise on a field of Siberian Squill". They may be viewed as invasive, but they're still beautiful. Tom Nicol of Geneva

Last year on a day trip to the Gardens at Cantigny, in Wheaton, I was able to snap this picture of a Monarch Butterfly. It is just a reminder and hope to us all that, "yes" summer is coming soon. I cropped the image to help enlarge the shot. Randy Link, from Winfield
