Kindle, Maine West topple Highland Park

Sam Kindle kept it close, allowing 3 hits in a complete-game effort, and his offense came through with 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to help Maine West past Highland Park 7-1 on Thursday in Central Suburban North baseball.

Eric Outlaw drove in 3 runs for the Warriors, and Jake Riportella, Crosley Duckmann, Alex Zimmerman and Kyle Divelbiss each had 2 hits.

Divelbiss also had 3 steals for Maine West (10-7), which swiped a total of 7 bases.

The Warriors played error-free defense behind Kindle, who struck out five and walked six.

• Maine West dropped a CSL crossover on Wednesday, a 13-1 decision in 5 innings against host Evanston. Maine West managed 5 hits, including a double by Joe Swanson, but couldn't match a 12-hit attack by the Wildkits.

Conant 16, Wheaton North 4 (5 inn.): The host Cougars produced three consecutive big innings to put away the Falcons in nonconference play.

Conant (11-6) scored 6 runs in the second inning and 5 in both of the next two innings.

Matt Fauth doubled and drove in 3 runs, Anthony Forte homered and drove in 3 and Jack Lunkes, Jimmy Brady, Jack Reiger and Ryan Roberts had 2 hits apiece.

Daniel Hafer started for Conant and earned the win. He allowed 9 hits in 4 innings and struck out two.

Luther North 4, Christian Liberty 3: The Chargers held a 3-1 lead heading into the final inning but yielded 3 runs and fell short in Northeastern Athletic Conference action. Junior Chris Hoffman had one of Christian Liberty's 2 hits, a double.
