Stricker, Mundelein cool off Lake Forest

Nick Stricker was 3-for-4 with a double, and Mundelein's baseball team knocked off previously hot Lake Forest for the second day in a row, winning 9-2 Wednesday.

Reese Dolan went 2-for-3 with a 2-run homer for Mundelein, which improved to 15-5 and 4-0 in the North Suburban Lake Division. Nick Brune earned the win.

Lake Forest fell to 13-3 and 4-2 with its third loss in a row.

Warren 8, Stevenson 7: Chris Mathieu went 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBI, and Ryan Davila was 2-for-3 for the host Blue Devils in the North Suburban Lake game.

Matt Burch also knocked in a pair of runs for Warren (13-6, 4-2). Brad Zahn doubled too, and Scott Gordon picked up the win.

Wauconda 5, Antioch 4: Down 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs scored three times to pull out the North Suburban Prairie game.

Luke Weller and Collin Shrader had big hits in the inning, while the winning run scored on a passed ball.

Greg LePage tripled for Wauconda (8-6, 4-0), while Kyle Harmomn and Trevor Sefcik added doubles. Dylan Latiolais pitched 2 innings in relief to earn the win.

Antioch got extra-base hits from Connor Geidner (triple) and Travis Slywka (double).

Vernon Hills 15, North Chicago 0: Matt Paszko and Jack Duffley combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter in the North Suburban Prairie game.

Chris Kahn led the way offensively for the Cougars with 4 hits. Andrew Smith, Nick Marras, Brennan Reback, Kyle Hull, Nick Conrad and Sam Perlin all had multiple hits as well.

Lakes 14, Round Lake 0: Jack Christensen pitched a five-inning shutout, allowing 2 hits, striking out five and walking one in the North Suburban Prairie contest.

Lakes (9-5-1, 4-0) got 2 hits apiece from Justin Blasinski, Max Swiatek, Billy Morris (3 RBI) and Austin Archacki. Liam Fitzpatrick had a single and 2 RBI.

Prairie Ridge 4, Grant 0: James Pendley had a double for the Bulldogs in their nonconference loss. Andrew Stone surrendered 3 earned runs in 6⅓ innings.

St. Viator 7, Carmel 4: Cooper Johnson was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Corsairs, who fell to the Lions for the second day in a row in East Suburban Catholic Conference action.

Lake Forest Academy 7, Grayslake North 6: George Deligiannis (doubled, RBI) and Jake Damore both went 2-for-4 for the Knights in their nonconference loss.
