Top Lake County educators honored

Two top Lake County educators were honored Tuesday at the Executive Mansion in Springfield. Grayslake High School District 127 Superintendent Catherine Finger and Sheryl Gray, assistant principal of Gurnee Elementary District 56's Prairie Trail School in Wadsworth, were among the education leaders at Gov. Bruce Rauner's home. Finger was named a superintendent of distinction by the Illinois Association of School Administrators. Gray was the 2014 assistant principal of the year as named by the Illinois Principals Association. "District and school administrators wear many hats and carry out a wide variety of responsibilities," said State Superintendent of Education Christopher A. Koch. "Their dedication and passion for going the extra distance to ensure students are successful learners inspire us all and we want to thank them for their hard work."
