Woodlands' Online Fundraising for Student Financial Aid Starts April 20

Online bidding for silent auction items such as a 2015 BMW Golf Championship package and a hockey puck autographed by the Blackhawks' Patrick Sharp begins Monday, April 20, as one way of participating in the 42nd annual Congé fundraiser, Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart's largest campaign to support ongoing academic and student financial aid programs. Congé is derived from the French word for "play date."

In addition, an opportunity to go "behind the scenes" with WGN-TV's Larry Potash, exciting travel packages and gift cards from a variety of dining establishments also are included among the wide range of silent auction items available for online bidding from 9 a.m. April 20 through 10 p.m. April 25.

Online bids will be accepted as the silent auction takes place during the annual Congé event which begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Glen View Club, 100 Golf Road, Golf, IL. Dinner and the program, including a live auction with a paddle raise for scholarship funds, begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $200 each and can be purchased on the Bid Pal website. Donations may be made online as well.

Partnership opportunities also are available as another way of supporting Woodlands' mission of educating young women in transformative ways.

Ever since its founding, Woodlands Academy, an independent nonprofit all-girls college preparatory day and boarding school located in Lake Forest, has been committed to offering financial aid to qualified applicants who show evidence of need. These grants are used to offset tuition costs and do not require repayment. The money for them comes directly from the fundraiser and the school's budget.
