Plant Your Park & Fabbrini Park Dedication
The community is invited to a new event, Plant Your Park, hosted by the Hoffman Estates Park District and the Village of Hoffman Estates on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Highpoint Park (1704 Glen Lake Road), which will be renamed Joseph L. Fabbrini Park, after one of the founding Park Commissioners. This event is sponsored by Alexian Brothers Health System, ABC Plumbing and the United Airlines Foundation.
Alexian Brothers Health System will concurrently hold its 11th Annual Walk and Community Play-date for Postpartum Depression Prevention and Awareness at the park. Sign in starts at 9:00 a.m. and kicks off at 10 a.m. with a scenic walk around the park. Strollers are welcome.
A park dedication ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. There will be 26 trees planted, as a result of an Eco Skies grant from the United Airlines Foundation and United Airlines employees will be volunteering to help plant the trees. Many other fun outdoor activities are planned, such as climbing wall, playground rake out, plantings, crafts, on-land paddle board demo and lessons, and healthy lunch available for purchase. The Village of Hoffman Estates and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District will be on hand to provide information and answer resident questions. Every resident who rides their bike to the event will receive a free one-day pass to Seascape Family Aquatic Center.
