Baseball: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, April 14

Brandon Altergott's 2-run, go-ahead triple keyed a 7-run seventh inning for Huntley in a 10-7 comeback win in a Fox Valley Conference crossover at Hampshire on Tuesday. Senior David Cruz picked up the win in relief for Huntley (4-8, 2-2) after tossing 2 hitless innings that included 3 strikeouts.

Trey Schramm (2 RBI) and Jayson Fleisner each had 2 hits, and reliever Michael Bowen took the loss for Hampshire (7-3-1, 1-2).

Crystal Lake South 5, Hoffman Estates 3: Nick Van Witzenburg counted a solo home run among his 2 hits, and Garrett Bright and Dakota Siwula each had 2 hits and drove in a run in this nonconference win. Winning pitcher Tim Siesennop allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits and 3 walks and struck out 5 in 5⅓ innings for CL South (10-2).

Streamwood 5, Geneva 4: Jake Painter's double drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth, and Adam Sojda made it stand up by escaping a bases loaded, no-out jam in the top of the seventh inning of a 99-pitch Upstate Eight River home win for Streamwood (3-6, 2-2).

Burlington Central 10, Richmond-Burton 5: Max Judnic, Ryan Gannon and Andrew Lauber doubled during a 5-run sixth inning that broke open a 1-run game in the Big Northern East. Killian Vasica homered and drove in 2 runs and Ryan Anderson doubled twice and knocked in 3 for Burlington Central (11-1, 4-0).

Westminster Christian 21, IMSA 4: Ten Warriors contributed to an 18-hit barrage, led by Adam Greene, who went 3-for-5 and drove in 6 runs. Peter Hahn had 2 doubles among his 3 hits, and Tyler Schoemann worked 2 innings on the mound to pick up the win for Westminster Christian (6-6).

Aurora Central Catholic 4, St. Edward 2: The Chargers committed as many errors as they had hits (5), but ACC rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to win this Metro Suburban Conference clash. Jack Tierney absorbed the loss after allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits and 4 walks. He struck out a pair in 5 innings for St. Edward (3-7, 2-4).

Bartlett 12, East Aurora 1: The Hawks peppered Tomcats pitching for 16 hits, including 7 doubles, and they took advantage of 6 errors in this an Upstate Eight Valley road win. Tripp Paris doubled twice and drove in 3 runs. Paris was also the winning pitching after throwing 4 innings of scoreless, 3-hit ball with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

St. Charles East 13, Elgin 0: Austin Regelbrugge threw a 5-inning no-hitter without a walk in this Upstate Eight River road win for the Saints, who committed 1 error. Brandon Stork took the loss for Elgin (5-8, 2-2), allowing 8 runs (5 earned) in 3 innings.

Batavia 8, Larkin 3: The visiting Bulldogs scored in each of the first four innings against Larkin starting pitcher Will King, who allowed 7 earned runs on 7 hits and 5 walks in 4 innings in this Upstate Eight River meeting. Dan Lenz doubled and scored twice and Johnny Avila drove in 2 runs for Larkin (3-6, 1-3).
