Lindenhurst hosts 50/50 rain barrel, compost program

Lindenhurst residents will be reimbursed up to half the cost of a rain barrel or compost bin under a program announced by the village and its environmental commission. The 50/50 program will allow residents to reduce water consumption or improve soil and plant life. Residents will be reimburse for the cost up to $75, excluding sales tax, delivery, accessories or other costs. Homeowners must show proof of purchase and residency. The program will run during the village' fiscal year, May 1 to April 30. Funds are on a first-come first served basis. Contact (847) 356-8252 or mail@lindenhurstil.org.
