New principal for Apollo Elementary near Des Plaines

A new principal has been named at Apollo Elementary School near Des Plaines.

Aaron Roberson, currently vice principal of Nelson Elementary School in Niles, was appointed this week to the top position at Apollo following the recent resignation of current Principal Amy Prester, East Maine Elementary District 63 officials said.

Roberson has degrees in elementary education from Purdue University and in educational administration and supervision from Ball State University. An Indiana native, Roberson previously served in administrative and teaching positions at elementary schools in his home state. He presents at conferences across the country through Connected Learning Assures Successful Students, a nonprofit professional development organization.

Apollo, located at 10100 Dee Road, serves more than 600 students from prekindergarten through sixth grade living in unincorporated areas near Des Plaines.
