Schaumburg Twp. library voters re-elect Bosshart, oust Scipione

Voters in Schaumburg Township Library District have decidedly ousted incumbent treasurer Nicholas Scipione.

Retaining her seat is Vice President Julie Wroblewski Bosshart, who led the five-way race with 4,519 votes, according to unofficial results with all precincts reporting.

Newcomers snagged the other two four-year seats up for grabs, with Jillian Rose Bernas receiving 3,694 votes. In third was Theresa "Terry" Seyring with 3,409 votes.

Elizabeth "Lisa'" Trousdale, the only candidate who lives in Hanover Park, fell short with 2,431 votes. And Scipione, a trustee since 2009, came in last, with 2,096 votes.

The Schaumburg Township Republican Organization says it doesn't make endorsements in non-partisan municipal elections, but Committeeman Ryan Higgins wrote in a Daily Herald letter to the editor that he does have his "personal preferences" for the winners in Tuesday's election. He called Rose Bernas, Seyring and Bosshart, who all live in Schaumburg, the most qualified candidates to steer a district with three library branches. The trio couldn't be reached for comment late Tuesday.
