Clean sweep for Lake Park District 108 incumbents
Three school board incumbents rolled to easy victories Tuesday in Lake Park High School District 108.
With all precincts reporting, Barbara Layer, Bob Marino and P.J. Olzen all won re-election, with the lone newcomer, Ray Kubalewski, falling short. Unofficial final totals showed Layer with 2,016 votes, Marino with 2,003 and Olzen with 1,671. Kubalewski received 1,374 votes.
"We're going to continue to do what we've been doing for the last four years," Marino said, citing balanced budgets and rising test scores among the board's accomplishments.
"We're fortunate to have a good administrative team and a good teaching staff. We couldn't do it without teacher support," he said.
During the campaign, Layer praised administrators and staff members, saying they "are always looking for new ways to improve academics and student opportunities."
She thanked voters and promised to continue working to "make Lake Park High School one of the best high schools in the area."
