Four newcomers win seats on Keeneyville school board

Four newcomers were elected Tuesday to the Keeneyville Elementary District 20 school board.

Those victories meant the only incumbent in the race for four seats with 4-year terms didn't make the cut.

The winners were Heather Weishaar, Sara Bruno, April Dislers and Andrea Schnorr.

With all ballots counted, unofficial results showed Bruno finished first with 388 votes.

Weishaar followed with 343 votes, while Dislers had 329 votes and Schnorr had 318 votes.

Incumbent Willie Rhodes finished out of the money in fifth place with 208 votes.

Bruno, of Roselle, is a preschool music teacher who has served on the district's gifted education committee. She has said she wants the board "to create a new vision and avenue for opening better lines of communication with the community, teachers and families."

In a separate race for a 2-year term, incumbent Jennifer Johnson was the lone candidate and won.

The district has three schools in Roselle and Hanover Park.

April Dislers candidate for Keeneyville D20.
Heather Weishaar candidate for Keeneyville D20.
