Excited fans watched the Chicago Cubs play the St. Louis Cardinals on opening night at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

In a rare Sunday home opener, the Cubs begin the season with high team expectations and major field renovations.

The Cubs hid bleacher construction with tarps that were a tribute to former Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks.

The Cubs lost the game 3-0 to St. Louis behind the strong Cardinal pitching.
