Slate represents change in Long Grove

Sure, Long Grove needs new revenue, economic growth and fiscal responsibility to fix our Village's problems. OK ... agreed.

Fact: Charlie Wachs has had eight years to make a difference, as one of the longest-standing Long Grove village board members. He has been responsible for the Village's public works - root cause to many villagewide infrastructure problems.

Wachs now owns the problem of our disintegrating downtown. He now owns the problem of our crumbling roads. He now owns the problem of our unity challenges resulting from his divisive first-ever tax referendum.

He now owns the problem of our lack of fiscal transparency with 33 bank accounts, Open Meetings Act violations and backroom deals

Charlie Wachs, a problem solver? Really? I think not.

We need real change, fresh ideas, open communication, genuine problem solvers, economic engines to fuel our village's growth into the future.

And thoughtful development of remaining open space.

The following has been suggested by The Voice of Long Grove's Mike Sarlitto: ideas for the repurposing of underperforming assets like CF Industries with the possible development of a CLC Satellite Campus or construction of a new data center connecting regional computing hub or a biotechnology office sharing facility.

Plus, the Voice of Long Grove slate wants to invite downtown property owners out of the shadows and into open, inclusive and collaborative economic development planning.

The list goes on, and, folks, these ideas did not come from Charlie Wachs. Vote for new ideas. Vote for open communication. Vote for solutions. Vote for "The Voice of Long Grove."

Vote all three: Bill Jacob, Stanley Borys and Michael Sarlitto for trustee.
