Lake Villa shows off its business community at SpringFest Expo 2015

More than 100 businesses and not-for-profit organizations participated in this weekend's 12th annual SpringFest Expo 2015 in Lake Villa.

Visitors had a chance to meet with business owners, win prizes, pick up some giveaways and receive discounts on items.

"We've had a really good turnout booth wise, exhibitor wise and in terms of the public," said Connie Meadie, executive director of the Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce. "I think the public really enjoys the show. We try to have a little bit of something for everyone. That's why we do it, to give our local businesses a chance to showcase what they do."

The free, two-day event at Lakes Community High School included family-friendly activities such as face-painting and performances by stilt walker, juggler and balloon artist Jason Kollum. Photographer and meteorologist Mike Caplan made a visit to the fest on Saturday.

Families enjoyed pancakes, French toast and sausages during the Lake Villa Lions Club Pancake Breakfast held on Sunday.

The spring expo attracts thousands of attendees during the course of a weekend, organizers said. For more information on the Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce, visit www.llvchamber.com.
