Don't overlook COD's successes

Recent headlines obscure an absolute truth: There are tremendous things happening at the College of DuPage.

My community's hometown college is the envy of the region, serving tens of thousands of students as an educational and economic agent for change.

I volunteer to serve the College of DuPage Foundation, and like my colleagues, we are motivated by our desire to see generations of future learners receive continuous opportunities for the diverse, valuable programs offered by COD.

In the past year alone, the Foundation - which operates separate and distinct from COD - has seen its number of contributors double and added over $3 million to its net assets due to donor generosity and prudent stewardship. These dollars translate to student scholarships, programmatic support and further innovations spurred by our Resource for Excellence Grant Program.

If you have not been to the campus in recent years, come take a look and speak with the students, faculty and staff. I know you will share my pride in what we have collectively built.

Susan Lang Berry, President

College of DuPage Foundation
