CLC offers National Alcohol Screening Day event

The College of Lake County Health and Wellness Center is sponsoring free, anonymous screenings for alcohol problems as part of National Alcohol Screening Day Thursday, April 9. Screenings will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Anderson Court on CLC's Grayslake campus and are open to anyone in the community.

Screenings will include an educational presentation on alcohol problems, completion of a screening form, and a one-on-one, confidential consultation with a health professional from the Lake County Health Department.

Referrals to local treatment and support resources will be available for those who need further evaluation. Appointments are not necessary.

National Alcohol Screening Day is a program of the nonprofit Screening for Mental Health, funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The screening program is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol consumption and offer help for those struggling with the problem.
