Kuma's Corner coming to Schaumburg in July

The Chicago-based, heavy-metal-themed burger restaurant Kuma's Corner is on track to open its first suburban location near Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg in a little more than three months.

Schaumburg trustees Tuesday unanimously approved the popular eatery's plan to open in a 3,529-square-foot space in the easternmost outlot building of the Woodfield Village Green Shopping Center, located across from Woodfield on the north side of Golf Road.

The original Kuma's Corner at 2900 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago will celebrate its 10th anniversary in August. A second location opened at 666 W. Diversey Parkway in 2013, and third will open in Indianapolis in May.

A July 1 opening for the Schaumburg Kuma's Corner is anticipated, Director of Operations Ron Cain said.
