Justice and Healing Seminar offered March 28 at Barrington UMC

A Justice and Healing Seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 28, at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road in Barrington.

Christians are called to journey on a path that leads to a "beloved community." What is the Christian's role in facilitating this? Join the presenters as they lead a dialogue on justice and healing for the nation.

They will share their perspectives on the church's responsibility to create the "beloved community," their personal experiences, what your individual and collective Christian responsibilities are in understanding the issues, speaking out about injustices and acting in ways that demonstrate commitment to Christian ideals.

The keynote speaker will be Jim Winkler, president of the National Council of Churches.

The panel moderator will be chaplain MaeLynn McCrory.

Panel participants will be: Bishop Sally Dyck, Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church; Rev. Chris Winkler, Barrington United Methodist Church; Rosalyn Wesley, chair of Church and Society Group of Barrington United Methodist Church; Rev. Zina Jacque, Community Church of Barrington; Rev. Nathaniel L. Edmond, Second Baptist Church, Elgin; and Rev. Wendy Witt, First United Methodist Church, Chicago Temple.
