Algonquin's Shamrock Shave raises over $62,000

It was a record-shattering "Shamrock Shave" last Saturday night, with more than $62,500 in proceeds and still counting for the needy in the community and pediatric cancer research.

Special thanks to Father Peter Sarnicki, Father Peter Tymko and Father Andrezj for their spirit and willingness to be shorn in solidarity with the needy and those suffering from cancer. Their head shaving and participation alone raised more than $4,000 at this year's "Shamrock Shave" at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin.

Also a special thanks to this year's Dan O'Neill Award Winner: Denis Wiener. Denis raised a staggering amount, and along with our other great Shavees, helped us shatter last year's record Shave by over $20,000!

You can still pledge your favorite Shavee online up until April 1 at www.saintmargaretmary.org/shave/shavee.html. The new photo album of pictures from last Saturday night's "Shamrock Shave" is also now posted on the official "Shamrock Shave" Facebook.

Thank you Shavees, sponsors, volunteers, donors and attendees for a truly great and inspirational parish event in our centennial year! We are truly blessed at St. Margaret Mary Parish.
