Community forum on suicide Wednesday at MCC

A community forum on suicide has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m., at McHenry County College's Luecht Conference Center, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Everyone is invited to attend this forum: friends, family, youth, parents, grandparents, neighbors, community members, or leaders of organizations.

Attendees will learn more about available resources in McHenry County, the warning signs of at-risk persons, the importance of communication, and ways of getting help. Participating agencies include: McHenry County Crisis Line, McHenry County Suicide Task Force, Youth and Parents from "Your Voice" of the McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition, Pioneer Center, NAMI McHenry County, McHenry County Mental Health Board, and representatives from local law enforcement.

The McHenry County Crisis Line is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week offering someone to talk to, help, and referrals.
