Lake Zurich High hosts concert

Lake Zurich High School Wind Ensemble will host a celebration of band music Friday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The 9th annual Wind Ensemble Invitational Concert will feature the symphonic band from Rolling Meadows High School and the wind ensemble from Elmhurst College. The concert will begin with the Rolling Meadows High School performance, under the direction of Lake Zurich resident Christopher Buti and his student teacher Amy Biscoff. They will be followed by Lake Zurich High School, under the direction of Joshua Thompson and Sheri Conover. The concert will conclude with a performance by Elmhurst College, under the direction of Professor Judith E. Grimes. The program will feature classic works of Ticheli, Hazo, Gillingham, Giroux, Yagisawa, Jager, Whitacre, Van der Roost, Schuman and Matz. The public is invited to attend and there is no admission fee.
