Uneven coverage of two prominent deaths
The Daily Herald's treatment of the deaths of the Rev. Ted Hesburgh and Leonard Nimoy was enlightening.
One was a national and international force in education, collegiate sports, civil rights, and nuclear weapons policy. The other was an "iconic" (your term) actor and director. Who won headline/front page copy and who was relegated to an inch of inside/bottom page?
Your value judgment as to what is actual news and as to who is deserving of an in-depth obituary is suspect. Nimoy even trumped Hesburgh in Sunday's edition.
