Local leaders have been speaking out against parts of Gov. Bruce Rauner's proposed budget cuts, but last night the Arlington Heights village board members put their opposition on paper. Mayors: Really 3 things in Rauner budget hurt suburbs

Suburban mayors say Gov. Bruce Rauner's proposal to cut their share of the state income tax would make it nearly impossible to continue to pay for local government services. Mayors groups representing many suburban communities sent a letter to Rauner asking him to reconsider his income tax proposal, as well as his plans to freeze property taxes and to exempt firefighters and police officers from proposed pension benefit cuts. Lawmakers unveil aggressive plan to curb heroin use

Suburban legislators want a more aggressive approach to preventing heroin overdose deaths. The plan includes drug education, increased use of heroin antidotes and a statewide overdose reporting system, as well as a plan to forbid pharmacies from dispensing more than 10-day supplies of narcotics that have a high potential for abuse. Crystal Lake police continue to search for a missing and despondent teen who may have a gun. Their search yesterday led to the soft lockdown of area schools. Adrian Salazar is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweater and black pants. Full story.

Widening and reconstruction work will cause restrictions on Route 31 from Virginia and Rakow roads in Crystal Lake through the end of May. Full traffic.

Wrigley's right-field bleachers may be delayed until June
