McNally's in St. Charles to become Valley Lodge Tavern

In a few weeks, McNally's Traditional Irish Pub will disappear from the face of St. Charles.

April 4 will be the last day locals can enjoy an ice cold Guinness at the Irish pub because on April 14, the storefront will re-open as Valley Lodge Tavern.

Valley Lodge Tavern and McNally's Owner Bill Stavrou said the spot will undergo some renovations before re-opening, but the fixes will not be extensive.

At the re-imagined spot, the menu from the other two Valley Lodge locations in Glenview and Wilmette will be implemented, Stavrou said. However, Stavrou said the spot will keep some staple McNally's dishes, such as the fish and chips and Reuben sandwich, as well as have nightly features that are reflective of popular McNally's items. The beer list will stay the same, but the wine list will have more variety.

Stavrou said the other two Valley Lodge locations are "growing at such a high rate" that it seemed natural to try to expand the brand.

Stavrou said they are having a monthlong going away party for McNally's through April 4, with plans including an auction of old McNally's items for charity.

They will have a St. Patrick's Day party from March 11 through March 17 at McNally's complete with live music and giveaways, as well as a final going-away party on April 4.

"On my end, I am just thrilled and excited for what's in store under the Valley Lodge name," Stavrou said.
